Best New Weapon Attachments in Update 1.5

Cyberpunk 2077 received a massive overhaul with the Patch 1.5 content update, including several new muzzle brake and scoped weapon attachments.

Cyberpunk 2077 received a massive content update in patch 1.5, including over a dozen new weapon attachments. Update 1.5 has been completely revamped Cyberpunk 2077, building on various mechanics, graphics, other complaints the game received when it launched in December 2020. In addition to major quality of life improvements, players can equip new accessories to their weapons in the form of brakes of mouth and glasses.

Similar to weapon mods, other attachments, and the weapons themselves in Cyberpunk 2077, all new muzzle brakes and scopes can be found in Wilson’s 2nd Amendment store in Megabuilding H10. Additionally, players can find every attachment simply by looting the streets of Night City and its most aggressive NPC residents. The first option will be the easiest way to find all attachments, as players can skip a full day’s time just outside of Wilson’s 2nd Amendment store to reset his inventory.

the Cyberpunk 2077 Update 1.5 added five muzzle brakes for handguns and five muzzle brakes for assault rifles and SMGs. When a muzzle brake is equipped on a player’s weapon, that weapon receives reduced recoil, reduced bullet spread, increased ricochet damage, and increased ricochet angle and chance. Additionally, updating Cyberpunk 2077 included four new scope types, each with a distinct effect on visuals and range when aiming, and they also affect ADS speed.

One of the important things to keep in mind for weapon accessories in Cyberpunk 2077 is that each attachment will have random stats, even at different rarity levels. The consistent aspect of weapon attachments is that higher tier rarities are always the best option, but, for example, two muzzle brakes of the exact same rarity might have slightly different stats. Fortunately, no matter how rare, all new muzzle brakes from Cyberpunk 2077 will have defined inherent traits that remain consistent across different rarity levels. With this information in mind, the best muzzle brake accessories in the Cyberpunk 2077 update are:

  • RC-7 Aswang (submachine gun/assault rifle): Increases angle and ricochet chance and reduces bullet spread.
  • RC-7 Yokai (submachine gun/assault rifle): Increases ricochet angle and chance, and increases bullet damage.
  • RC-7 Liger (handgun): Increases ricochet angle and chance, and increases bullet damage.
  • RC-7 Kutrub (handgun): Increases angle and ricochet chance and reduces bullet spread.

While the remaining six muzzle brake types all provide increased ricochet bullet damage in addition to some of the benefits mentioned above, they all halve the critical chance of each shot. Regardless of the ricochet damage percentage, even in cases where a muzzle brake provides a 150% increase in ricochet damage, this benefit does not outweigh the halved critical strike chance. Considering all the enemies players face in various quests throughout Cyberpunk 2077players should rely on weapon accuracy and damage rather than ricochet chance and damage.

The new staves, on the other hand, are more preference-based, though the Kanetsugu short stave, Handyman short stave, and Jue long stave are all great additions to Cyberpunk 2077. Each scope provides a clear picture of the attachment’s sight alignment, and they’re equally inconspicuous on handguns, SMGs, and assault rifles. Additionally, while the Gaki sniper scope does not provide range benefits, it allows players to see enemies clearly for close-range sniper encounters in Cyberpunk 2077.
