Disabled American Veterans and RecruitMilitary® will co-host the Virtual National Army and Transitioning Spouse Career Fair from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on April 12. The event is free to veterans, their spouses, active duty military personnel, and members of the National Guard and Reserve.
More than 25 employers actively seeking the unique talents of American veterans will be on hand, representing a range of industries, from construction and medical to administrative and logistics, with career opportunities from entry level to high direction. In addition to employment assistance, veterans can use career counseling and career recovery assistance, network with other veterans and military personnel, and get help with their Department of Veterans Affairs benefits and claims assistance, all free of charge.
This year, DAV will sponsor over 80 in-person and virtual career fairs. Since the launch of its employment initiative in 2014, there have been almost 260,000 participants and more than 157,000 job offers. Last year, to support employers, dispel myths, and demonstrate the business case for employing the nearly 4 million U.S. veterans with service-related disabilities, DAV developed “The Veteran Advantage : DAV Guide to Hiring and Retaining Veterans with Disabilities”. This guide offers best practices and useful tools for employers and strives to inspire more organizations to consider the veteran talent pool.
