Collinsville Andrew Carney has been an offensive weapon for the Cards.
The double-threat player can do it all, but has even had to deal with some adversity along the way this season. Coming back from an injury can be easier said than done. Especially when your legs are what make you a superstar on the pitch. Andrew Carney of Collinsville has been sidelined for four games this season due to an MCL sprain, but that injury has never said his confidence
“I think they saw me not only give up, helped them and told them I was coming back, they backed me up,” said Andrew Carney, a double-threat athlete from Collinsville.
Carney has been the heart and soul of the cardinal offense, playing both quarterbacks and running back, but what if I told you he’s become a superstar of a different sport?
“Growing up I played football until I was 10, I always had that by working with my footwork,” Carney said.
The miles he racked up on the field with the run translated into football and head coach Kevin Jones is confident he will go down in history as one of the best that has ever played for Collinsville.
“Without a doubt he’s a quarterback or two we’ve never had here, I mean he’s phenomenal,” Collinsville head coach Kevin Jones said.
