the mcu sparked many unanswered questions during its four-phase run, especially serious brain teasers like “who is NoobMaster69?” — an age-old debate that finally received its answer very recently. Now, u/maxsdo has sparked an intellectual discussion on Reddit, asking the question: “Who threw the coffee grounds in the trash of Captain America: Civil WarIn the post, u/maxsdo lists – in detail – the potential suspects and their individual motivations.
Closure of the Captain America trilogy, Captain America: Civil War surpassed the entire gross of its predecessor, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and became the highest-grossing film of 2016. Rounding out the insightful post, u/maxsdo added, “Please let me know who you think this is” to give food for thought to fellow Reddit users – who have since weighed in on their own thoughts.
“I feel like it’s obviously Vision. He was also trying to cook stuff for Wanda in that movie and I’m not sure that went very well either. He’s clearly learning getting by in the kitchen,” one user wrote. Many fellow Redditors seemed to agree; comments in the same thread wrote, “The vision was my guess too. He’s still learning everything” and “Okay. He also doesn’t understand social etiquette, such as stepping through the wall because the door was open.
Other commentators have pointed the finger at Wanda Maximoff, who – as a foreigner – would be less likely to understand the mechanics of garbage disposal in more technologically (and socially) advanced cities than Sokovia. One Reddit user said, “Wanda is the least likely to know about trash disposals and their restrictions. Plus, during this time, she’s basically “kept like a prisoner,” she’s unhappy about her brother’s death, and is absolutely the most likely not to care about the fancy cooking of her former semi-billionaire arms dealer. -gaoler. sink bulls**t. But she definitely wants a fucking coffee.
Another comment made a very valid point about American culture versus less developed Sokovians: “It’s probably Wanda. Wanda grew up in Sokovia, a European country. Trash is illegal in much of Europe and rare even where it is legal, so she had probably never seen any before moving to America.
Other names were thrown around, particularly Pepper Potts – in a retaliatory fit against Stark – or ‘Rhodey’ – who has a playful ‘brother’ dynamic with Tony and would like to ‘have fun’ with him. Interestingly, another comment blamed Tony Stark himself, who dumped the coffee grounds in a drunken stupor after brewing the coffee in a half-hearted attempt to sober himself up.
No matter who the culprit was, the theories are great fun to read. Check out the full thread for yourselves and maybe share a different perspective.
