Investigation of elder abuse, theft, drug and weapons charges; suspect arrested

PARSONS, Kan. – Labette County deputies say the Kansas Bureau of Investigation arrested a Parsons man for theft, drug and weapons trafficking and elder abuse.

On July 26 at around 3:45 p.m., officers arrested a 55-year-old man for the following:

  • Flight
  • Two counts of elder abuse
  • Criminal threat
  • Two counts of possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance
  • Possession of a controlled substance
  • Possession of Stolen Property
  • Felon in possession of a firearm
  • Possession of marijuana
  • Criminal possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Offense of possession of drug paraphernalia.

After the arrest, officers placed the suspect in the Labette County Jail.

According to the police, the investigation is ongoing.

The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office, Girard Police Department, Labette County Sheriff’s Office and Parsons Police Department assisted in this investigation.
