It looks like Dallas Mavericks stars Kristaps Porzingis and Luka Doncic are developing that much-needed chemistry that Mavs fans have been waiting for. In fact, they seem to communicate better now.
According to Porzingis after Friday’s practice, he and Luka not only speak more on the pitch, but they also do it in Spanish so that others cannot understand what they are discussing.
“It’s so that everyone on the pitch doesn’t understand what we’re saying,” Porzingis said, speaking Spanish with Doncic on the pitch, by Callie Caplan of the Dallas Morning News.
Too much about the two hating each other, eh?
It is certainly a big step for the Mavs to see Kristaps Porzingis and Luka Doncic develop this partnership which will take the team to the next level. Much has been said about their apparent lack of relationship, with KP growing increasingly frustrated with his role alongside the Slovenian over the past two seasons.
Now, it looks like two stars are on better terms and ready to form what Dynamic Duo the Mavs envisioned when they traded for Porzingis in 2019.
Under new head coach Jason Kidd, the Mavs are certainly taking a different direction with Porzingis and Doncic still in the lead. It remains to be seen if this is what Dallas really needs to overcome this first-round playoff bump. Regardless, fans have grown to love the progress the team has made towards the 2021-22 campaign.
