It seems that LeBron James, Frank Vogel and the Los Angeles Lakers have found a new “secret weapon” after the departure of Alex Caruso. Apparently Kent Bazemore has been impressive for the Purple and Gold and has turned heads since joining.
Vogel said so on Wednesday, noting that Bazemore has “separated” himself from the rest of the list with his incredible length and athleticism, per OC’s Kyle Goon Subscribe.
Frank Vogel says Kent Bazemore “broke up” because of his length and athleticism, which the coaching staff found more impressive up close.

Kent Bazemore has always been known for his motor skills and athleticism, and it’s clear his strengths stand out on his second stint with the Lakers.
How much of an impact he will have on Frank Vogel and Co. remains to be seen, but there’s no doubt that he gives the Lakers much needed depth on the wing. Much like Caruso’s role with the team in the past, Bazemore can certainly bring the same relentlessness, aggressiveness and confidence to both ends of the pitch. Not to mention that as a nine-year veteran, he brings leadership to the locker room.
Bazemore spent the final 2020-21 season with the Golden State Warriors, racking up 7.2 points, 3.4 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.0 steals per game. He’s played 67 games for the Dubs and started in 18, proving he can step in and step up when his number is called.
With the way he plays for the Lakers, Bazemore could very well play a crucial role for LA in the 2021-22 campaign. For his part, LeBron James and the rest of the Big 3 will surely be happy to have more quality players backing them.
