LATHAM – New York State Adjutant General Maj. Gen. Ray Shields has announced the promotion of members of the New York Army National Guard in recognition of their ability to take on additional responsibility and leadership.
Xavier Stoutenger of Fulton, and assigned to Headquarters and Support Company, 642nd Aviation Support Battalion was promoted to Private 1st Class on August 25, 2021.
Logan Engle of Oswego, and assigned to C Company, 427th Brigade Support Battalion was promoted to Private First Class July 27.
Nathanial Cleveland of Phoenix, and assigned to the 204th Engineer Platoon was promoted to Private First Class July 30.
Nathaniel Ouellette of Pulaski, and assigned to B Company, 427th Brigade Support Battalion was promoted to Private 1st Class Aug. 5.
Army National Guard promotions are based on overall performance, attitude, leadership ability and development potential.
These promotions further recognize the most qualified soldiers and attract and retain the highest caliber Citizen Soldiers for careers in the New York Army National Guard.
The New York National Guard (New York State Division of Military and Naval Affairs) is the state’s executive agency responsible to the Governor for the management of New York’s military forces, which consists of nearly 20,000 members of the New York Army National Guard, New York Air National Guard, New York Naval Militia and New York Guard.
